I found this incredibly useful tutorial over at http://beauzartes.com/, and it seemed like something I needed to share with you! Several of our clients use MailChimp for their client newsletters, as it is fairly easy to learn, has lots of great features, and plays nicely with WordPress. It is also free for your first 2,000 subscribers, which makes it even more attractive! There is a little bit of a learning curve, however, and jumping right in can be a bit daunting. So, without further ado, here is an excellent introduction to using MailChimp:

Create a Campaign

Set up your first Mailchimp campaign using this visual step-by-step tutorial. Mailchimp recently updated their platform, so these screens differ from previous Mailchimp posts.

STEP 1 – Go to Campaigns and Choose Regular Ol’ Campaign

 

STEP 2 – Choose the list to send to under Recipients

STEP 3 – Add your own reference and the email subject under Setup. Click Design to advance to the next screen.

STEP 4 – Click on Design and Select My Templates

STEP 5 – Choose your template

 

STEP 6 – Scroll over the text area box to get the edit button to show up

 

STEP 7 – In the Visual Editor you will replace the text with your own text

 

STEP 8 – Mailchimp auto-generates a plain text email, which you can edit on the Plain Text screen

 

STEP 9 – Last, the Confirmation screen. After you check your list and  subject line, send yourself a test email. Then either send it for real or schedule the email for a future time.

Add Individual Subscribers

Step 1 – Go to Lists and click on the Settings icon to get the dropdown to show up, then click on Add.

Step 2 -Add your clients one by one, or import a list in a csv spreadsheet format.
